Programs
The Gananoque Police Service currently runs two programs which are geared towards youth. These are the Youth In Policing Initiative Program, also known as "YIPI", which is a summer job program for teens 15 to 18 years of age, who are attending school full time. The D.A.R.E. Program (Drug Abuse Resistance Education) is an educational program which is taught in Gananoque's Linklater and St. Joseph's schools to children in grade 6.

The Gananoque Police Service offers several services to the residents living within the Town of Gananoque:
- Fingerprints for employment and volunteer purposes
- Police Record Checks for employment and volunteer purposes
- Police Report Requests

Community Activity
The Gananoque Police Service is also active in "giving back" to the community through several events.
The Cram the Cruiser
campaign has been successful over the last couple years. Each year, a couple weeks before Christmas, officers receive generous assistance from the community in packing the cruisers full of food at the local No Frills and Metro grocery stores. Everything received goes to the local food bank
Every spring, officers also take part in the annual Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics. With the assistance of officers from the local O.P.P. detachment, the officers run from one end of town to the other, collecting donations for Special Olympics.
In September 2016, Cst. Joel Harding took part, along with officers from across Ontario, in the annual Canadian Police Memorial Ride to Remember. The Ride started at the Ontario Police College in Aylmer. From there 120 police officers rode bicycles to the Provincial Police Memorial in Toronto, and from Toronto to the National Police and Peace Officers Memorial in Ottawa, a total distance of 700 kms.
On April 28, 2017, officers of the Gananoque Police Service, and Gananoque Fire Department, along with students from GISS, held a blood bank.
